You may have had an 'alert' from your local 'Mairie' as it is an obligation to keep your ground cleared to prevent fires spreading in certain areas e.g. 50 metres around your home if within 200 metres of 'les garrigues' and forests: your local Mairie will have the detailed obligations for your property. This entails the scrupulous clearance of fallen branches; deadwoods: to keep the ground clear of large organic debris. Also, to keep the access free for the fire service (sapeurs pompiers).
